A Good Candidate Search Strategy Leads to Top Talent

Every new search assignment should begin with the creation of a solid search “strategy”. A great search strategy leads to top talent for focused search assignments. 

To determine a great search strategy, the recruiting firm must complete the following steps:

  • Thoroughly review the “position description” and ask questions about anything that is unclear.
  • Explore the position and the “ideal candidate” thoughts of the hiring manager.
  • Review information about the Client to better understand the company, culture, and strengths as well as weaknesses.
  • Draft a search strategy including targeted companies for sourcing, networking opportunities, and possible niche posting boards; review it with the Client.

Once the strategy has been drafted, the recruiting consultant should create ideal attributes for the top talent candidates and begin to identify the candidate pool.
