I Want My Job Back!

By Jim Stewart

1.    Having a job makes you happy.

·        What is it about your “job” that makes you happy?

·        Why does it make you happy?

·        Do you share it with your friends?

2.    The more important your job is to you, the more you want to hold on to it.

·        Why?

·        What feelings does it create to lose your job?

·        Who is responsible?

3.    If you do not change, you can become extinct.

·        How does behaving the same way cause problems?

·        Who decides to change?

4.    What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

·        How can you identify what you are afraid of?

·        How can you overcome that fear?

5.    Examine your job search often so you know when it is getting old.

·        What are some methods of identifying tired, worn ideas?

6.    Movement in a new direction helps you find opportunities.

·        What should you do to keep your fears from making the change harder?

7. When you move beyond fear, you feel free.

·        Are you held captive by your own fear?

·        Trapeze artist concept

8. Imagining yourself enjoying a new career even before you find it, leads you to it.

·        Have you identified what you really want?  Do you think about?  You become what you think about.

9.    The quicker you let go of old ideas, the sooner you find new ideas.

·        Sometimes you can’t move ahead until you abandon old beliefs.

10.     It is safer to search than remain in a jobless situation.

·        Life is full of “trade-offs”.  If you continue to do the same thing, you will get the same results.

11.  Old beliefs do not lead you to new careers.

·        The world changes whether you like it or not.  Change is the only constant.

12.    When you see that you can find and enjoy a new career, you change course.

·        Nothing succeeds like success.
